Balmy nights
One of our most loved signature experiences is outdoor dining under a blanket of twinkling stars at Table 131°, made more comfortable by the evening temperatures which hover around 25 degrees Celsius. Likewise, the pre-dinner stroll through the magical Field of Light is undertaken in the cool of twilight.
Climate control
Our luxury tents are air conditioned and provide a cool refuge from the hottest part of the day. Longitude 131°’s touring schedule is designed so that adventures are embarked upon in the early morning or late evening when temperatures are mild.
Relax poolside
A desert oasis wouldn’t be complete without a pool, and Longitude 131° in fact has two. Guests can enjoy a refreshing dip in the main pool, complete with shaded loungers and overhead water misters, helping themselves to the self-service bar and while lazing away the afternoon. For ultimate views of both Uluru and Kata Tjuta while taking a dip, head to the Dune Top plunge pool, which of course is also equipped with a bar nearby.
Spa indulgence
Spa Kinara is a cool, calm retreat reflecting the clever design of a traditional Aboriginal shelter or, wiltja. Escape the heat while indulging in an indigenous inspired face or body treatment. For cooling effects try a full body massage which incorporates the use of cold stones to cool and calm the body, leaving you feeling refreshed and uplifted.
Escape the city
Longitude 131° is an exclusive and secluded hideaway. With only sixteen tented pavilions guests can rely on a feeling of seclusion and relaxed elegance for their sojourn to the desert.
Icy cocktails
On the cocktail list, the Old Man Saltbush Margarita (a contender for Australia’s national drink) mixes up tequila, triple sec and lime in a coupe glass rimmed with indigenous ingredients lemon myrtle and old man saltbush blended with Murray River pink salt. It’s a bottler!
Festive escape
A Christmas in Australia’s Red Centre is almost as far from a ‘white Christmas’ as can be! Guests will start the day at sunrise, exploring Uluru-Kata Tjuta National Park before sharing a festive Christmas lunch with Australian menu traditions including ham, prawns and oysters in the Dune House. Sunset adventures continue before guests celebrate with a seven course degustation dinner with treats from around the country, while custom cocktails complete the day. Celebrate a new year
Be a jolly swagman (or swagwoman!) and bring in 2021 at Longitude 131°. On New Year’s Eve, guests will have the option to begin their day in a most remarkable way with an Uluru circuit base-walk at sunrise. A seven course degustation dinner is in order in the cool of the evening at Table 131°. Back in tent, roll out the swag for a night under the stars and let the French Champagne flow – the perfect way to usher in the dawn of a brand new year.
Tour in Comfort
Signature touring is undertaken early or late to avoid the hottest part of the day, and all journeys are undertaken in one of the lodges many air-conditioned vehicles. Guests travel in style and arrive at their destination comfortably, ready for adventure.
Rare Summer Storms
With an Australian summer comes the possibility of storms passing across the outback, offering the rare chance to see waterfalls cascading down Uluru. A rare sight to see!
