Matthew joined Southern Ocean Lodge in 2016 as a Food and Beverage Attendant and since then he has spent time working in various departments including Housekeeping, Experiences and Front Office.
Matthew recognised the benefits having a working knowledge of every department through watching the successful careers and breadth of experience of Baillie Lodges founders and lodge managers across the portfolio.
Matthew was recently promoted to Guest Services Duty Manager. He knows he’ll draw upon his previous experience in his new role. Matthew’s ability to put himself in the shoes of his colleagues and understand their needs and operational requirements has already stood him in good stead and will be invaluable for the future.
‘I’m passionate about working in hospitality and Southern Ocean Lodge allows me to realise my ambitions,’ Matthew said.
