Ben has a passion for wildlife, photography and for his own large backyard – Australia – so the Baillie Lodges collection suits him perfectly. Like other team members, Ben has worked at more than one lodge across the portfolio.

After graduating with a Bachelor of Science with a biology major in 2016, Ben joined Baillie Lodges as a guide in the Experiences department.

A move from Southern Ocean Lodge to Longitude 131° in 2019 has meant he’s broadened his knowledge of sea lions, fur seals and kangaroos to thorny devils and dingos. He’s now sharing his ever-expanding knowledge of the local landscape and culture during personally guided experiences at the lodge to the diverse mix of national and international guests.

Ben has recently completed his Charles Darwin University accreditation course, and has been promoted to a Senior Guide with extra responsibilities in the Experiences department. As an avid bird-watcher and talented photographer Ben’s in the right place.

My current office is a World Heritage site, twice the size of the Sydney Harbour Bridge, 550 million years old and the heart of Australia – Uluru-Kata Tjuta National Park,’ Ben said.
